Detailed itinerary: 4 day tour starting in Queenstown

Day 1 - Welcome to the 'Adventure Capital' of Queenstown

4 day Queenstown Holiday with Heli-Ski - SALE - Day 1
Arrive Queenstown and collect your NZSki Mypass from the Snow Centre

Welcome to Queenstown for your winter ski or snowboarding holiday.  It’s not just the skiing that makes Queenstown a fantastic winter destination, there’s also the spectacular scenery, amazing adventures and endless activities to keep you entertained when you’re not on the slopes.  After each action packed day, you’ll also find a superb variety of cafes and restaurants to relax and refuel at.

Today we recommend you visit the Snow Centre located on the ground floor of the Station Building at 9 Duke St and collect your mypass card.  This will save you heaps of time tomorrow as you’ll avoid the morning queues and can head straight to the mountain with more time to ski and ride.  When you visit the Snow Centre please take your Ski New Zealand itinerary with you as the Snow Centre staff will need the reference number off this.  You will need to pay a $5 refundable deposit for each mypass card and each person in your group receives their own card.  All your lift passes, rental equipment, lessons, shuttle transfers etc will be loaded onto your card.  If you’re taking the Snowline Hotel Pick-up shuttle to the mountain tomorrow you can also book this at the Snow Centre.

Drop into Browns to have your ski gear fitted

Today we recommend you visit the Browns Ski Rental Shop located right in the centre of town at 4 Brecon St, Queenstown. This will enable you to have your ski gear fitted and ready for your first day up on the slopes.

Your accommodation: Blue Peaks Lodge

At Blue Peaks Lodge you’ll find clean and comfortable self-catering motel accommodation, just a short 5 minute walk from the buzz of Queenstown’s dining and shopping area. Ski field transport picks up from across the road and free off street parking make it a doddle to get up the slopes.

Day 2 - Get ready for the ride of your life with a heli-ski experience today

Enjoy the most memorable experience in Queenstown and surround yourself with a sky of stars and 14 Japanese lanterns as you soak up the warm waters of the Onsen Hot Pools. Nestled high into a cliff-side overlooking the magnificent Shotover River canyon, the experience is all about unwinding and soaking-up Queenstown's spectacular scenery, enjoying the pure waters and the fresh mountain air as your mind and body surrenders to the deep penetrating warmth and gentle massage of the private pools. Water temperature is set according to the day - generally between 37.8C on a hot day, to 39.8C during a snow-storm and in the summer one of the pools is kept cold for those who relish the thought of a cold plunge!

4 day Queenstown Holiday with Heli-Ski - SALE - Day 3
Explore Queenstown and surrounds

Although celebrated as New Zealand's ‘adventure capital’ Queenstown offers far more than a fast paced action-packed holiday. Settled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu beneath a soaring panorama of the Remarkables Mountain Range, this alpine town is surrounded by a plethora of historic, gastronomic and scenic wonders.
Head down the Gibbston wine trail to sample some of the region’s best Pinot or catch a ride on the 100 year old Steamship - the TSS Earnslaw -  to Walter Peak Station for dinner and a farm tour. Browse the waterfront cafes and have lunch at Michelin star chef Josh Emett's ‘Rata.’ Check out nearby historic Arrowtown and enhance your experience with a four wheel drive trip to Macetown.
Take a leisurely lakeside stroll or ride the gondola for breathtaking views. Venture further afield into the Fiordland National Park or head over the Crown Range to Wanaka. Drive through Lord Of The Rings country - or for the really fanatic, jump aboard one of many dedicated LOTR tours. And after all of that - if you do really want the adrenaline rush Queenstown is known for, take your pick from the Shotover Jet, Canyon Swing, Zipline, Luge or Heli-ski.

The Nevis Swing is not simply the most famous Queenstown Swing. It is not merely the most famous New Zealand Swing. This is the most famous swing in the whole world! After being lifted out above the launch deck, suspended 160 metres above the canyon floor, you are suddenly released and find yourself rushing towards the other side of the valley at 120kph, eyes wide open in disbelief or shut tight in fear.

Nevis Bungy - Welcome to the best thing you have ever done. Go full throttle with 134m Bungy (the highest in New Zealand). Free fall for 8.5 seconds in a blitz of pure fear and adrenaline. Don't say you weren't warned, because this is definitely going to put the cement in your coffee.

Take the ride of your life this winter through the spectacular canyons of the upper Shotover River.  Your Shotover Jet Boat driver takes you careering past rock faces, boulders and jutting crags with an ease that belies the power of the ‘Big Red’ jet boat.  Just when you think you can’t scream any more the boat suddenly stops with a 360 degree spin amidst a spray of water.  To keep warm during this winter adventure wear your ski jacket and gloves and keep your hands firmly on the heated hand rail.

Visit three unique locations around Queenstown and Gibbston with a minimum of 12 tastings of some of the finest drops in the region. If beer is more your thing then bounce from vines to hops and taste some local craft beers instead. Better yet, it departs at 3.45pm meaning you can still go out skiing or snowboarding in the morning, or even fly in from out of town. Shared antipasto platters are also included at the final stop, a perfect starter for once you finish the tour and head into town for a meal (or more wine).
