Mount Hutt Ski Field - Big Snow and Long Snow Seasons


Best For

Mt Hutt is known for its big snow and regularly has one of the South Island’s longest seasons.  It’s also a great destination for beginners with is wide groomed trails appealing to newbies and the Kids4Free programme in nearby Methven make it a great destination for families.

Scheduled Open: 10 June - 8 October 2017

Terrain

Beginner 25%, Intermediate 50%, Advanced 25% (excludes Rakaia Saddle Chutes)

Facilities

For dining up the mountain you can choose from the fast and friendly Ski High Café serving up all your favourites like burgers and pizza.  For a classier affair Huber’s Hut serves up mouth-watering fare and some traditional favourites like hot chocolate and mulled wine.  The little ones are well catered for at the Skiwiland early learning centre for children 3 months to 5 years and Kea Club for the little learners.  For adults the Snowsports School have lessons for all abilities and you can hire all your rental equipment up the mountain as well.  If you forget your gloves there’s a shop to buy some funky ski accessories and in the unfortunate event its needed there is also a First Aid centre.
